Job description

Position Title: 

Probationary Union / Plant Utility

Pay Rate

$21.66/hr.


Category/Shift

Hourly Full-Time 

7:00am-3:00pm

The Job You Will Perform: 

  • Operates the machine pre-feeder and press as needed to ensure continuous run

  • Responsible for keeping the machine fed with stock, printing dies, cutting dies, and ink as needed

  • Perform hand labor such has gluing and other labor as needed 

  • Mount print plates, both during setup and when returning tooling to the racking system

  • Responsible to the Operators for whichever function they are assigned to and functions as the machine supply liaison and setup assistant

  • Responsible for set up duties on machines as assigned

  • Performs basic housekeeping tasks in support of machine operations; keeps work are clean and free from clutter and debris

  • Responsible for certain aspects of quality assurance

  • Work completed as assigned by the Supervisor and /or Machine Operator


 

The Skills You Will Bring: 

  • Must be able to lift ink buckets weighing up to fifty (50) pounds.
  • Must be able to safely use T-handle wrenches for setting pull collars and slotting/scoring heads.
  • Must be able to read a standard tape measure and read and understand job specification cards.
  • Must follow all safety rules and procedures; watch out for crew member's safety at all times; always follow lock out and tag out procedures; always use personal protective equipment (steel toed shoes, safety glasses, ear plugs and safety vest, Kevlar gloves, etc.).
  • Work requires the ability to understand and follow directions.
  • Demonstrated ability to add and subtract all units of measure; read and copy figures; and count and record figures.
  • A comprehension level is required to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written or oral form and to deal with problems.

The Job You Will Perform:

Counting and stacking finished product

Reading factory orders

Accurately reading gauges and other test equipment

Utilizing basic shop math, inspecting

Accurately completing quality and administrative documents and following directions

This person will also be assigned to clean-up functions such as blowing down the machine, wiping off shafts, cleaning ink systems, vacuuming and sweeping the machine area, as well as picking up and shredding scrap.
