Job description

Duties and Responsibilities

  1. Safely operate box truck, up to 26,000 gvw and/ or Delivery Van
  2. Travel within Arizona to deliver fresh produce to customers
  3. Uses paper invoices or electronic tablet to make deliveries and adjust invoices.
  4. Uses electronic reporting of any truck maintenance or safety issues
  5. Loading and unloading using hand trucks, pallet jacks, or other means
  6. Verify with customers that the delivery is correct, or if incorrect, document the shortage or problem
  7. Pre and post inspection of assigned vehicle and reporting concerns
  8. Positive attitude to maintain customer satisfaction
  9. Telephone calls must be made to the office to report customer or product issues
  10. Operate in a safe manner to ensure that the employee, customers and the general public are protected at all times.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Required

  • Ability to resolve complaints and concerns.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills and the ability to work effectively with a wide range of constituencies in a diverse community. Customer service interactions are part of the job.
  • Clean MVR without moving violations in the past 3 years
  • Ability to use independent judgment and to manage and impart confidential information.
  • Ability to pass a fingerprint check with extensive criminal background search
  • Ability to pass a pre-employment drug screen to comply with federal DOT guidelines
  • Ability to pass DOT physical exam
  • Ability to repeatedly lift 50 pound packages
  • Ability to safely operate, back up, move, park, large delivery vehicles.

Working Conditions and Physical Effort

  • Physical effort is required for lifting and moving packages up to 50 pounds
  • Work is normally performed in a chilled warehouse environment, approximately 32 degrees F, or over the road in an air conditioned vehicle. However, deliveries will require that you are outside during inclement weather and heat. There can be heavy physical effort
  • Must be 21 years old or older per insurance requirements
