Job description

Summary of position
A Production Machinery Operator performs production operations via a beam saw, CNC routers, and edge banding machines. They also clean and maintain machinery based on a maintenance schedule. Training on machinery will be provided by the company. It is their responsibility to update the status of jobs in progress and completed by using the company’s shop floor management software. It is their responsibility to work with other team members on various machines to keep up with the production schedule.
Essential Job Functions:
  • Produce machined wood parts by programming, setting up, and operating various equipment.
  • Understanding and demonstration of how to operate each machine based on cabinetry structure and needs.
  • Maintain quality and safety standards.
  • Record keeping of job information.
  • Basic machine maintenance such as cleaning, lubricating necessary parts, and changing cutting blades as necessary.
  • Keeping up with the production schedule.
  • Keeping up to date with our product spec guide.
  • Keeping up to date on the training of machinery.
  • Communicate job information to other staff members.
Knowledge, Skills, Abilities:
  • Plans machining by studying work orders, blueprints, materials, specifications, and other deemed resources.
  • Loads feed mechanism by lifting stock into position.
  • Verifies settings by measuring positions, first-run part, and sample workpieces, adhering to standards.
  • Maintains specifications by observing drilling, grooving, and cutting, including turning, facing, knurling, and
    thread chasing operations; taking measurements; detecting malfunctions; troubleshooting processes; adjusting
    and reprogramming controls; sharpening and replacing worn tools; adhering to quality assurance procedures and processes.
  • Maintains safe operations by adhering to safety procedures and regulations.
  • Maintains equipment by completing preventive maintenance requirements; following manufacturer's instructions; troubleshooting malfunctions; calling for repairs.
  • Maintains continuity among work shifts by documenting and communicating actions, irregularities, and continuing needs.
  • Know kitchen and bath cabinetry cutting down.
  • Cabinetry builder experiences.
  • Documents actions by completing production and quality logs.
  • Updates job knowledge by participating in educational opportunities; reading technical publications.
Minimum Qualifications:
  • 2 years of woodworking experience.
  • Cabinetry builder experiences.
  • Math skills: will need to understand addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division of fractions and decimals.
  • Problem-Solving Skills: Will need to know why machines are not at peak performance, how to increase output, and how to fix errors.
  • Attention to Detail: Will work with precision equipment; keen attention to detail is required.
  • Stamina: Can work doing repetitive movements and standing in one area for long periods.
  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Ability to lift and slide products weighing 50lbs to 100lbs.
  • Ability to communicate effectively in English verbally and in writing.
