Job description

AT Process Technologies (ATP) is a pioneering manufacturing company focused on the development and deployment of modular energetics production plants. Using breakthrough chemistry and automation that operates continuously and generates little to no waste, ATP is expanding energetics production to meet the munitions demands of the US and Allies safely, rapidly, and cost effectively.

Summary

ATP is building a core team to assemble, wire, and stand up the autonomous skidded production systems that will redefine how energetics are manufactured. As our Engineering Technician, you will be the hands that turn engineering designs into working hardware - building mechanical assemblies, wiring control panels, fabricating parts, and supporting ground operations at ATP and customer sites. The ideal candidate is comfortable working across mechanical, electrical, and fabrication tasks, moves fast without cutting corners, and can troubleshoot hardware issues on the shop floor in real time.

Key Responsibilities

  • Assemble mechanical subsystems, skids, and process equipment from drawings, BOMs, and verbal direction from engineers

  • Wire industrial control panels, field devices, and cabling for PLC-based automation systems

  • Fabricate parts and brackets using hand tools, power tools, and shop equipment (drill press, saws, basic machining)

  • Support installation and termination of sensors, actuators, valves, and instrumentation on process skids

  • Assist with PLC I/O checkout, point-to-point wire verification, and basic troubleshooting of control circuits

  • Support hardware-in-the-loop testing, commissioning, and factory/site acceptance testing alongside engineers

  • Perform ground ops support at ATP and customer sites: rigging, equipment moves, staging, and field installation

  • Identify and flag build issues, fit-up problems, and wiring discrepancies before they become integration problems

  • Maintain a clean, organized, and safe shop and field work environment

  • Keep build records, punch lists, and as-built documentation accurate and up to date

Required Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent; technical/trade school training a plus

  • 2+ years of hands-on experience in mechanical assembly, electrical wiring, or industrial fabrication

  • Working knowledge of reading mechanical drawings, wiring diagrams, and P&IDs

  • Basic familiarity with PLC I/O, control panels, and industrial wiring practices

  • Comfortable using hand tools, power tools, and basic shop/fab equipment

  • Ability to work hands-on in laboratory, fabrication, and plant environments

  • Strong attention to detail and follow-through on build quality

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with 480 VAC / 24 VDC industrial control panel wiring

  • Experience assembling fluid/process systems, tubing, or piping

  • Exposure to Siemens or similar PLC platforms

  • Experience with skidded/modular equipment builds

  • Experience in defense, aerospace, energetics, or other regulated manufacturing environments

Additional Requirements

  • Ability to lift 50 lbs

  • Ability to obtain a U.S. Government security clearance

  • Ability to work on-site and travel as needed

Export Control Requirements

This position may require access to information or technology subject to U.S. export control laws and regulations, including the International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR) and the Export Administration Regulations (EAR). Accordingly, employment may be conditioned upon the ability to obtain any export authorization required for this role. Non-U.S. persons are not automatically excluded from consideration; if an export license is required, the company will evaluate the feasibility of obtaining one for the selected candidate. If required, citizenship information will be collected as part of the standard background check process, and a separate export compliance review will be conducted for this position prior to the start date, independent of the Form I-9 employment eligibility verification process.
