Job description

Basalite Building Products, LLC is one of the largest manufacturers of concrete masonry products in the Western United States. Product lines include structural block, interlocking paving stones, engineered wall systems, retaining walls, ornamental and garden products, and a full range of sack goods. OPEN SHIFT AVAILABILTY REQUIRED  $20.00 - $21.50 DOE

POSITION SUMMARY: Under the supervision of the Secondary Operation Superintendent, this position inspects and determines the level of pallet repairs needed, following established repair criteria. Repair pallets using provided tools, wood components, and proper process and procedures. Sorts pallets accurately, based on appropriate quality and grade, as determined through inspection and repair process, and assists in other areas of the yard department; and Is responsible for supporting and demonstrating the Core Values of Integrity, Safety, Respect, Customer Focus, Quality, Innovation and Financial Success. Performs other related duties as assigned.

SUPERVISION RECEIVED: General 

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:  include the following. Other duties may be assigned. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions.

  • Check and maintain forklift with oil, water, and Hydraulic fluids.
  • Keep nail guns oiled for proper use.
  • Verify pallets are placed in proper location and stacked correctly.
  • Keep work area clean including wood bins and pallet yard.
  • Keep track of and turn in all pallet tags to supervisor each day.
  • Take inventory of pallet boards and nails.
  • Repair different types of pallets and fix any pallet that requires new boards.
  • Attends safety meetings and abides by all safety rules set forth by company and governmental regulatory agencies; ensures that hazardous conditions are reported and corrected.
  • Regular attendance is required.

 

QUALIFICATIONS To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily.  The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required.

  • Requires basic math, reading and writing skills.
  • On-the-job training experience is required to be able to perform duties.
  • Ability to operate forklift, air gun, hammer and any other equipment required to perform duties.
  • Must be able verbally communicate effectively with peers and superiors.
  • Regular attendance is required.
