Receiving Clerk Job Description

Ensures the proper unloading of product from trailers on the receiving docks.  Ensures product is properly tagged for movement. 
Receiving Clerk Job Responsibilities:

  • Verifies materials against a physical packaging that arrives with the raw materials. 
  • Place Inbound shipment tags on each individual pallet/ rack/ container for traceability purposes.  
  • Place batch tags on material after SAP receipts are posted.  
  • Communicates damage to stock, trailers, or building to the Supervisor.  
  • Documents and communicates shortages and overages to direct lead. Marks inbound bolder with red thumb sticker to heighten awareness of overages/ shortages for the clerk. 
  • Follows proper receiving procedures for indoor storage. 
  • Document and communicate physical location of all raw materials per trailer to the receiving clerk. 
  • Work alongside a receiving HILO driver to sustain department 5S principles. 
  • Keeps work area neat and in order at all times. 
  • Performs other duties as assigned. 

Receiving Clerk Job Requirements:

  • High School diploma or equivalent 
  • Valid operator’s license for hi-lo 
  • Ability to demonstrate complete understanding of shipping and receiving system used for outside storage area 
  • Ability to read, write and communicate effectively
