Paint Store Sales Associate

Job Summary:


The Paint Store Sales Associate is responsible for assisting customers and evaluating their specific applications for their paint project, determining the appropriate products such as paints, stains, coatings, and painting supplies based on project needs. Help customers determine paint project accessories such as primers, and top coats. Provide product knowledge, color-matching assistance utilizing DataColor Paint software and Accutinter paint mixing processes. Knowledge of Accutinter equipment including dispenser management and maintenance. Excellent customer service while maintaining an organized and well-stocked retail environment is a must.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Greet customers and determine their painting and project needs.
  • Recommend appropriate paints, primers, stains, brushes, rollers, and related supplies.
  • Mix and tint paint colors accurately using DataColor paint software and Accutinter computerized color-matching equipment, and operation of Harbil Mixer machine.
  • Process customer transactions using the point-of-sale (POS) system.
  • Maintain inventory by stocking shelves, organizing merchandise, and monitoring product levels.
  • Ensure the paint department is clean, organized, and visually appealing.
  • Answer customer questions regarding product applications, preparation, and cleanup.
  • Assist with re-orders of paint and related products, unloading and receiving shipments.
  • Follow safety procedures for handling paints, chemicals, and equipment.
  • Build positive customer relationships through knowledgeable and friendly service.
  • Handle customer concerns and resolve issues professionally.
  • Willing to assist in other departments within the facility as needed.
