What's the Short Version?

The Facilities II, DC supports daily DC operations to provide a safe, clean, efficient, and comfortable environment. They perform general or preventative maintenance around the DC.

What Will You Be Doing?

  • Perform general maintenance or carpentry, minor repairs, and routine painting.
  • Assist with preventive maintenance procedures on building mechanical equipment on a scheduled basis; inspects belts, checks fluid levels, replaces filters, greases bearings, seals, etc.; repairs or replaces broken parts.
  • Relocate, move, and adjust furniture as needed.
  • Respond in a professional and timely manner to management and internal customer inquiries and researches and resolves problems related to a facility's operational issues.
  • Comply with all applicable laws and regulatory requirements; maintain all required HAZMAT records including maintenance.
  • Interact with outsourced building services including janitorial, document shredding, garbage collection, window cleaning, grounds keeping, and furniture repair.
  • May be required to operate powered lift equipment.
  • Maintain repair and maintenance log.
  • Sanitary maintenance as needed.
  • Perform other duties as assigned
  • Comply with all policies and standards

What Are We Looking For?

  • High School Diploma or equivalent
  • 1-3 years of facility maintenance experience is required to include most of the duties and responsibilities as listed above and use of hand and power tools.
  • Experience operating warehouse equipment is preferred
  • Excellent organization, ability to prioritize daily responsibilities.
  • Knowledge of facilities maintenance and custodial principles, procedures, and standards.
  • May be required to complete and maintain SanMar's Lift Operator Certification in compliance with OSHA guidelines
  • Self-motivator; needs to take initiative.
  • Able to work both independently and within a team.
  • Demonstrates ability to follow directions and change priorities or job duties as business needs require; support or rotate to other production functions as needed.
  • Ability to work efficiently with minimal supervision.
  • Responsive to staff needs, demonstrating professionalism, respect, and consideration of others always
  • Demonstrated verbal and written communication skills.
  • Strong attention to detail.
  • Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to interpret miscellaneous drawings and schematics.

  • Ability to deal with problems involving a few concrete variables in standardized situations.
  • Responsible for checking out equipment and returning in same condition.
  • Overtime as required, which may include weekends.

What Should You Expect?

DC Warehouse (Equipment): While performing the duties of this job, the employee is constantly required to stand, walk, talk and hear. The employee frequently lifts and/or moves up to 60 pounds. The employee operates powered equipment requiring use of both hands as well as full range of motion of the neck, head and back. The employee is frequently required to reach with hands and arms, grasp and perform repetitive hand, wrist and arm motions. The employee is frequently required to climb stairs, kneel/squat, bend and carry. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus. Employee may be required to wear a headset covering one or both ears. Employee will be required to wear Personal protective equipment such as a Protective harness while operating equipment. Basic English literacy is required for operation of machines and necessary daily paperwork. Work environment is moderately noisy. The employee is occasionally required to work near conveyor systems. There is exposure to dust and changes in weather conditions. Work is performed under typical warehouse conditions. Potential hazards exist with regard to machinery such as forklifts, pallet jacks, mechanized systems, etc. Work environment is hectic and fast-paced.The employee is regularly exposed to ambient lighting and can be exposed to extreme heat and extreme cold including climates consistent with outside weather conditions.
