Position Overview
The Painter position is responsible for all aspects of painting both the interiors and exteriors of structures, buildings, and other surfaces. This position will select the appropriate materials for each project and properly prepare surfaces and surrounding areas prior to painting. Attention to detail and pride in workmanship are essential to ensure high-quality results.
Key Responsibilities
  • Read blueprints, instructions, and examine surfaces to determine the kind and amount of work necessary
  • Make on-site preparations such as building scaffolding and covering fixtures
  • Prepare walls and other surfaces for painting by scraping, sanding, removing old paint, and taping off areas as required
  • Fill cracks and holes with appropriate materials
  • Mix paint and other materials to achieve the correct color and texture
  • Paint surfaces according to specifications using brushes, rollers, sprayers, and other tools
  • Apply varnishes, sealants, and other finishes
  • Adhere to all company health and safety regulations
  • Maintain clean and organized job sites and company vehicles
  • Participate in after-hours emergency on-call rotation
  • Other projects and duties as assigned
Experience and Qualifications
  • High School Diploma or GED required
  • Minimum of 1+ years of professional painting experience
  • Solid knowledge of commercial and/or construction painting techniques

Compensation and Benefits

  • Pay range: $20.00 - $28.00 per hour, depending on experience level
  • Average production employee works approximately 45 hours per week
  • Overtime opportunities available
  • Mandatory on-call rotation required
    • After-hours calls earn an additional:
      • $25 per call Monday-Friday
      • $50 per call on weekends
    • Additional on-call compensation is paid on top of the employee's hourly rate
  • Company-provided branded work van assigned for business use
