ACI Coatings is looking for experienced Industrial Painters to join our growing team and lead a two-person crew/van.

We currently employ 60+ painters and operate 25+ crews on commercial and industrial projects throughout Eastern Washington and Northern Idaho. We are looking for candidates with 3-5+ years of industrial painting experience, including work on large commercial buildings, facilities, structures, equipment, machinery, bridges, tanks, and other industrial assets.

Lead painters must be highly efficient with airless pumps and have experience managing crew members, planning work by the day and week, and keeping month-long projects on schedule.

Position Goals

This position is expected to meet the following goals:

  • Develop excellent communication with team members, project managers, account executives, and customers
  • Provide daily on-the-job mentoring to apprentices and crew members
  • Communicate clearly with the Project Manager and Account Executive regarding scope, allotment, schedule, and job progress
  • Teach and demonstrate productive, efficient, and high-quality painting techniques
  • Provide excellent customer service
  • Understand jobsite safety requirements, complete inspections, and submit required reporting
  • Maintain quality control on all jobs and for all team members

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

In addition to the expectations of an Apprentice at ACI Coatings, this role includes the following responsibilities:

Safety

  • Complete all basic safety training certifications required for apprentices
  • Serve as a safety ambassador and promote safety awareness among the crew
  • Obtain OSHA 30 certification
  • Meet all deadlines for safety paperwork and incident reporting

  • Quality control your own work and the work of your team
  • Maintain excellent attendance
  • Take ownership of daily production, jobsite efficiency, and project deadlines

Product Knowledge and Daily Deliverables

  • Use airless sprayers, sanders, drills, spray guns, pumps, rigs, power tools, and other equipment safely and efficiently
  • Understand the right product for the right job
  • Maintain advanced knowledge of primers, interior and exterior paints, stains, coating systems, and basic base types
  • Demonstrate advanced knowledge of GRACO/TITAN sprayers, including basic repair and maintenance
  • Mix and apply coatings such as epoxies, enamels, stains, paints, primers, and liquid roof coatings

ACI Quality Standards

  • Prepare and set up job sites quickly, safely, and consistently with all necessary equipment and supplies
  • Complete proper surface preparation for industrial and commercial painting projects
  • Maintain a clean, organized jobsite throughout the project
  • Break down and clean sprayers thoroughly
  • Perform quality control throughout each phase of the job
  • Complete projects efficiently while meeting ACI Coatings' quality expectations

Requirements

1. Must have a valid drivers license (No DUI's within 5 years, no more than 2 moving violations within 3 years)

2. Must pass a drug testย 

3. Must pass a background check including a Motor Vehicle Record check

4. Must own a smartphone to use our timekeeping app

5. Must have reliable transportation


Experience Requirements

  • 3-5+ years of industrial painting, surface preparation, or related field experience
  • Experience painting large commercial buildings, industrial facilities, and/or industrial assets
  • Experience leading or mentoring other employees
  • Ability to plan work by day and week to meet project deadlines
  • Strong experience with airless pumps and spray equipment
  • Familiarity with spray guns, pumps, rigs, power tools, and industrial coatings
  • Strong attendance, honesty, communication, and self-motivationย
