Job Summary:
The position of General Manager is a multifunctional role to oversee and coordinate all aspects of customer service, including quoting projects utilizing our BRANDED Quoting Software and following our BRANDED customer service sales process.
In addition, the position also requires managing project schedules, budgets, and resources while ensuring high-quality work and customer satisfaction.
The General Manager is the primary point of contact for prospective customers requesting painting estimates and for existing clients throughout the project lifecycle, ensuring that projects are completed on time, within budget, and to the highest standards.
The compensation for this position includes a base salary plus commission.
Attendance at Fresh Coat Academy Workshop Week in Cincinnati will be required.
This position is sales-focused and requires physical presence in the Stamford-Greenwich area to travel to customer locations, perform estimates, and close sales.
Key Responsibilities:
  • Seek out new opportunities for painting projects.
  • Participate in various networking events and business networking meetings to generate new business leads.
  • Conduct discovery calls, understand client pain points, and deliver tailored solutions.
  • Manage a healthy sales pipeline, negotiate contracts, and successfully close deals to meet monthly and quarterly goals.
  • Utilize all aspects of our BRANDED customer service process to win projects.
  • Regularly follow up with customers who have not yet decided on their painting proposal.
  • Coordinate with clients to understand their needs and expectations.
  • Plan and oversee painting projects from start to finish. Select and manage both employee painters and subcontractors.
  • Schedule and supervise painting crews.
  • Ensure quality control on all painting projects.
  • Manage project budgets, track expenses, and ensure cost-effectiveness.
  • Report directly to the Owner to review the sales pipeline, project progress, and operational performance.
Required Qualifications:
  • Ability to communicate effectively one-on-one with customers while maintaining a customer-first mindset.
  • Exceptional negotiation and objection-handling skills.
  • Experience as a Field Project Manager or Team Leader in the painting industry. 
  • Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Proficiency in basic software tools including Microsoft Word, Microsoft Excel, Google Docs, Google Sheets, Google Drive, and similar applications.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
  • Ability to monitor/track labor hours and material costs during a project and ensure job costs don’t exceed allocated budget.
  • Valid driver's license and clean driving record (required for site visits).

  • Strong experience in consumer sales with a proven track record of meeting or exceeding sales targets.
  • Proven track record of hiring, managing, and retaining field crews or subcontractors.
  • Basic understanding of business terms and financials.
  • Proven ability to meet key performance indicators (KPIs), including gross profit margin targets.
