CARFAIR - PAINT FIBERGLASS COATING SPECIALIST (STARTING $22.49)
Carfair Composites is a leader in fibre-reinforced plastic (FRP) design and composites technology and has dedicated team members located in facilities between Winnipeg, MB (Canada), St. Cloud, MN (USA), and Anniston, AL (USA), Wausaukee, WI (USA) and Gillett, WI (USA).
The Paint Fiberglass Coating Specialist classification consists of Paint, Gel and Buff Back Final Finish. All Paint FCSs will be cross trained in these functions and will be utilized throughout the facility, based on customer demand. Hours Monday - Thursday, 5:00 am to 3:30 pm plus willingness to work overtime when needed.
Requirements
PAINT:
  • Produces quality parts at or above expected rate.
  • Utilizes time and skills effectively.
  • Inspect parts at every stage of process to identify defects and correct immediately.
  • Identify defects & follow proper procedure for non-conformance.
  • Ensure filters are clean and PMs are done on paint booth and sprayers.
  • Tape any hardware exposed to the paint process to avoid overspray on hardware.
  • Uses Knowledge of quality standard by customer to improve quality of all customers.
  • Uses safety guidelines & proper PPE to protect self and reminds others of importance.
  • Reads route card to identify correct materials required.
  • Uses proper reclaiming of hazardous waste.
  • Reads, understands, and follows procedures related to position.

GEL:
  • Ability to set up, tear down and calibrate gel guns.
  • Ability to read a mil gauge.
  • Checks expiration dates periodically and follows procedure for expired material.
  • Cleans and maintains equipment to avoid down-time & quality issues.
  • Meet with and train on products as new ones come in.
  • Reads route card to identify correct materials required.
  • Identify defects & follow proper procedure for non-conformance.
  • Inspect parts at every stage of process to identify defects and correct immediately.
  • Utilizes time and skills effectively.
  • Uses safety guidelines & proper PPE to protect self and reminds others of importance.
  • Reads, understands, and follows procedures related to position.
  • Maintain all necessary documentation related to position.

BUFF BACK FINAL FINISH:
  • Knows all tools and equipment related to position and what to use to replicate customer specifications.
  • Can identify correct material to use to produce a quality part.
  • Can accurately use all gauges, fixtures, and locators related to position.
  • Uses knowledge of all tools and equipment related to position to replicate customer specifications.
  • Uses knowledge of root cause of quality issues that arise to help eliminate defect & uses proper procedure to fix defect.
  • Uses safety guidelines & proper PPE to protect self and reminds others of importance.
  • Arm dexterity to use both arms to paint to alleviate muscle stress while painting large parts.
  • Basic math skills: add, subtract, multiply, divide.
  • Follow proper procedure/techniques when spraying gel over defects.

WHAT YOU NEED TO BE SUCCESSFUL:
  • Prior experience in composites or similar industry preferred
  • Strong problem-solving ability including troubleshooting and resolving issues
  • Must be able to stand for prolonged periods of time
  • Must be able to reach and bend on a consistent basis
  • Must be able t occasionally lift 50 lbs
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, multi-task production environment
  • Effective communication skills, both verbal and written
  • Ability to organize and prioritize workload
  • Ability to exercise initiative and sound judgment
  • Ability to work in harmony with others while maintaining a positive and professional attitude with overall success in mind
  • Ability to remain calm under pressure and deal with issues logically and within the company guidelines
