    Job Summary: As a Retail Sales Associate – Paint & Hardware Department, you will provide excellent customer service by assisting customers with paint, hardware, and home improvement products. You will help customers find the right products, answer questions, offer recommendations, and ensure the department is stocked, organized, and ready to serve customers.

    Pay for this role: $14.00 to $ 18.00 an hour depending on experience.

    Key Responsibilities:
    • Understand customer needs and provide appropriate product recommendations.
    • Assist customers with selecting paint, stains, hardware, tools, and other home improvement products.
    • Mix and tint paint to customer specifications while ensuring color accuracy and quality.
    • Process sales transactions accurately and efficiently.
    • Pull appropriate products from the sales floor or warehouse to stock shelves and set up displays while maintaining a presentable, in-stock position.
    • Locate hardware items and assist customers in finding the correct products for their projects.
    • Perform basic screen repairs, including replacing screen material and spline as needed.
    • Maintain a clean and organized store appearance.
    • Receive, stock, and price merchandise according to company standards.
    • Handle customer inquiries, complaints, and returns in a timely and efficient manner.
    • Remain knowledgeable on products offered and discuss available options.
    • Stay updated on industry trends and product knowledge to effectively assist customers.
    • Comply with inventory control procedures.
    • Assist customers in person and over the phone by determining needs and presenting appropriate products and services.
    Desired Skills, Knowledge, and Qualifications:
    • Construction, hardware, paint, or retail sales experience preferred.
    • Reliable, self-motivated, and punctual.
    • Friendly, outgoing personality with a passion for helping customers find the products they need.
    • Strong customer service, communication, and customer resolution skills.
    • Basic math skills and ability to accurately handle cash transactions.
    • Computer knowledge, including Point of Sale (POS) system experience.
    • Problem-solving and multitasking skills.
    • Detail-oriented with the ability to work independently and as part of a team.
    • Ability to lift up to 50 pounds repeatedly.
    • Ability to stand for 10 or more hours per day.
