Job description

The Industrial Painter is responsible for performing high-quality surface preparation and protective coating applications using various metal finishing and coating equipment. This role includes setting up, operating, and maintaining blasting and coating systems, as well as interpreting technical requirements and verifying surface finish and coating quality to ensure compliance with applicable specifications and standards.
Location: Camden, NJ (On-site)
Shift Schedule: 5:00 AM - 3:30 PM or 3:00 PM - 1:30 AM
  • Must be flexible and willing to work either shift based on business needs.
  • Initial training will be conducted on the day shift.
  • Overtime, evening, and weekend work may be required to support production demands

Primary Responsibilities:
  • Perform surface preparation and protective coating applications to required standards
  • Set up, operate, and maintain blasting and coating equipment
  • Interpret drawings, work orders, and technical instructions
  • Inspect surface finish and coating quality to ensure compliance
  • Utilize preparation and finishing tools, equipment, and materials
  • Record time and production data accurately in required systems
  • Move materials using appropriate equipment (crane, forklift, etc.)
  • Perform routine maintenance and equipment adjustments
  • Mark materials for identification as required
  • Maintain a clean and organized work environment
  • Communicate work status with supervision and assist in training new employees
  • Follow all safety procedures and properly use required PPE
  • Perform other duties as assigned

Requirements:
  • High school diploma or GED required
  • Post-secondary training in a related field preferred
  • Experience in industrial spray painting preferred; automotive painting experience a plus
  • Experience with work order systems and data entry preferred
  • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs. occasionally and 25-30 lbs. frequently
  • Regular use of industrial spray equipment, respirators, and air systems
  • Frequent standing, walking, climbing, and use of ladders or aerial lifts
  • Work performed in an industrial/manufacturing environment with potential exposure to paint, fumes, and varying conditions
  • Must be able to wear required PPE, including safety glasses, hearing protection, gloves, respirators, and steel-toed footwear
