What does a pain management nurse practitioner do?

A Pain Management Nurse Practitioner (NP) is a specialized healthcare professional who assesses, diagnoses, and treats patients experiencing acute or chronic pain. They work with patients to develop individualized pain management plans, which may include medication management, physical therapy, interventional procedures, and patient education. Pain Management NPs collaborate with physicians and other healthcare providers to ensure effective and safe pain relief, aiming to improve patients' quality of life while minimizing the risk of dependency or side effects.
