Job Title: Physiatrist (Interventional Pain Management)

Location: Multiple Gulf Coast Locations (St. Petersburg to Naples, FL)

Position Type: Full-time or Contract Position

Overview: PhysMED is actively seeking a highly qualified Physiatrist with expertise in interventional pain management, with experience in the treatment of personal injury patients. Orthopedic doctors are encouraged to apply. This role requires a professional who will balance consultations and procedures across multiple locations, providing essential care to patients recovering from acute injuries resulting from auto accident injuries. Our ideal candidate has significant experience in personal injury cases, with proven skills in developing, documenting and executing treatment plans that address both immediate pain relief and long-term recovery.

Key Responsibilities:

Patient Consultation and Care Planning

  • Conduct in-depth consultations, assessing each patient’s unique injury and pain management needs.
  • Develop tailored, effective care plans that integrate interventional techniques with PhysMED’s patient-centered, ethical treatment approach.
  • Educate patients on their treatment plans, setting clear expectations for recovery and providing compassionate guidance throughout their journey

Interventional Pain Management Procedures

  • Perform a range of advanced interventional procedures, including injections, nerve blocks, and other minimally invasive techniques to manage pain and restore function.
  • Split time effectively between consultations and hands-on procedures, ensuring a seamless, high-quality patient experience from assessment to treatment.

Documentation and Regulatory Compliance

  • Maintain precise documentation for each patient case, with attention to the unique requirements of personal injury claims and legal documentation and processes.
  • Ensure compliance with all relevant regulations, including proper documentation for billing and reimbursement specific to personal injury cases.

Travel and Multi-location Responsibilities

  • Travel to multiple PhysMED locations along the Gulf Coast, adapting to different clinical settings while maintaining consistent, high-quality patient care.
  • Flexibility to meet the diverse needs of patients at each clinic location, with a commitment to accessible and timely patient service.

Qualifications:

Education and Certification: 

Doctor of Medicine (MD) or Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine (DO), with Board Certification or Eligibility in Physical Medicine & Rehabilitation (PM&R) or Orthopedics.

Active Florida medical license.

Experience: 

Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in interventional pain management, with experience in working on personal injury cases.

Demonstrated ability to balance consultation and procedural work effectively, with a focus on the patient experience.

Skills and Abilities:

Strong proficiency in interventional techniques tailored to personal injury pain management.

Exceptional communication and patient interaction skills, with a compassionate approach to injury recovery.

Detail-oriented, particularly in documentation and regulatory compliance for personal injury cases.
