 Production Lead – Riverside, CA
$22.35-$27.86
Portables 1st Shift
M-F 6:30am-3pm + Overtime

POSITION PURPOSE:

Direct and train hourly employees in set-up and machine operation, 5S, lean concepts, manufacturing processes, inspection methods, quality requirements, and efficient production of high-pressure composite cylinders in a safe work environment.

REQUIREMENTS:

 The main activities of the position include but are not limited to the following:

  •  Meet daily production schedules.  Direct and motivate hourly employees.  Review of processes, procedures, and productivity at all operations on a daily basis.
  • Maintain a safe work environment by way of the 5s process and enforcing current safety procedures, monitoring operations to develop new safety procedures and working in close cooperation with safety committee.
  • Oversee machine operators and inspectors throughout the production process.
  • Supervise production employee training to ensure all employees are properly trained and signed off to proper operations of machinery and equipment, performance of manufacturing and inspection processes, safety and quality requirements of each operation.
  • Monitor and maintain minimum (95%) efficiency standards for all machine operators and inspectors using daily machine utilization reports and direct floor observations. 
  •  
  • Monitor and maintain machine center efficiencies through production records review and visual management.  Improve machine production and efficiencies through joint efforts with manufacturing, engineering, maintenance, and product assurance department.

Qualification Requirements:

Education and/or Experience:

Five years related experience and or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

 Other Skills:

Familiarity with process involved in producing high-pressure composite cylinders.  Completion of inspecting/set up training program.  Capable of handling multiple objectives in a high volume production setting.  Computer literate and print reading a must.

 Reasoning Ability:

  • Requires the use of judgment to plan and make decisions as to sequence of operations, processes and set-ups within the limitations of recognized or standard methods and procedures.  Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form.
