Registered Nurse - Post Anesthesia Care Unit (PACU)
Job Description
We are seeking a dedicated Registered Nurse (RN) with experience in the Post Anesthesia Care Unit (PACU) to join our team. This position requires strong patient monitoring skills and the ability to manage postoperative symptoms effectively. The ideal candidate will ensure the highest level of care for patients recovering from anesthesia and surgery.
Responsibilities
  • Continuously monitor vital signs and the patient's level of consciousness during recovery.
  • Ensure a patent airway and intervene quickly in case of airway obstruction or respiratory distress.
  • Administer medications for pain management and other postoperative symptoms.
  • Assess surgical sites for complications and perform necessary physical assessments.
  • Document patient care and communicate effectively with other healthcare team members regarding care plans.
Schedule
This is a variable shift position with a schedule of 9:00 AM to 9:30 PM, guaranteeing 36 hours per week.
Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure
  • 2 years of PACU experience is required.
  • Current BLS certification (AHA) is mandatory.
  • Active RN license in Michigan is required.
