Registered Nurse Job Requirements
  • Active Registered Nurse (RN) license
  • Minimum of 2 years of recent PACU nursing experience or relevant specialty experience
  • Current AHA ACLS certification
  • Current AHA BLS certification
  • NIHSS certification or equivalent stroke assessment training
  • Experience with Cerner preferred
  • Ability to work scheduled holiday shifts as required
  • Strong communication skills and the ability to thrive in a high-acuity clinical environment
PACU Nurse Responsibilities
  • Provide safe, high-quality post-anesthesia nursing care for surgical patients
  • Monitor and assess patients recovering from thoracic, orthopedic, neurology, vascular, urology, and general surgery procedures
  • Recognize changes in patient condition and escalate concerns promptly
  • Work collaboratively with physicians, anesthesia providers, and the interdisciplinary healthcare team
  • Maintain accurate clinical documentation and follow established PACU protocols
  • Support a 24/7 recovery unit with charge nurse and supervisor oversight
  • Participate in holiday coverage and call coverage as assigned
