Job Title

Registered Nurse – PACU (Travel Contract)

Location

Birmingham, Alabama

Schedule / Job Type

Contract (13 Weeks) | Days, 10:00 AM – 6:30 PM | 5x8-hour shifts | 36 hours guaranteed per week | No call requirements | No float requirements | No weekend hours

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide post-anesthesia care and recovery monitoring for patients in a 24-bed PACU unit
  • Manage a patient population including orthopedic, neurological, general surgery, and pediatric cases
  • Maintain a 2:1 patient ratio while delivering safe, compassionate, and professional nursing care
  • Document patient assessments, interventions, and progress accurately using Epic EMR
  • Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team to support patient recovery and transition of care
Required Qualifications
  • Active Registered Nurse (RN) license
  • Minimum 2–3 years of PACU/Recovery nursing experience required
  • Current ACLS certification
  • Current BLS certification
  • Current PALS certification
  • Proficiency with Epic EMR
Preferred Experience / Skills
  • Critical care nursing background
  • Experience with diverse surgical patient populations including orthopedic, neurological, and pediatric patients
