POSITION SUMMARY: The Team Leader is responsible for training reports to the Shift Supervisor. The Team Leader will be able to perform the job of Packer / Handler and will oversee and direct the process operation of the Molding Department to ensure parts are being manufactured and packaged to Amcor Standards. Team Leaders do not supervise or oversee others but are responsible for the process of making industrial containers. The Team Leader will be knowledgeable of all the injection molding machines, the process, raw materials, minor machine adjustments, quality standards, packaging standards, documentation, and housekeeping. In performing these responsibilities, employees are to work safely, efficiently, and cooperatively in a manner that demonstrates team member involvement.

RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES:

  • Understands all aspects of job duties for an inspector packer.
  • Part handling requirements include inspections, trimming, hot stamping, handle installation, gasket installation, and packing per instructions. Inspection of product, verification of pull-apart, stacking product onto tray packs, labeling and documentation of finished product and transfer from presses to staging for shrink wrap.
  • Responsible for maintaining production supplies such as bags, gaskets, handles, labels, tray packs, and TPI's.
  • Exhibit leadership skills to assist with overall productivity, develop and apply training skills, use problem-solving abilities to handle situations that may arise in the workplace, motivate and communicate with Inspector Packer, alert Mold Techs and Shift Supervisor of safety, quality, machine, raw material, packaging, documentation or production concerns.
  • Coordinate and give breaks (lunch) to Inspector Packers and other team leads to ensure productivity stays on track.
  • Oversee housekeeping and safety standards in the Molding Department.
  • Identify and understand the operation of all safety devices.
  • Train and complete on the job training matrix paperwork for new hires
  • Have the ability to be trained and act as a back-up quality auditor when needed.
  • Any other tasks assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Must be able to keep up with the fast-paced production cycles.
  • Position requires agility and consistent attention to detail.
  • Able to tolerate constant repetition.
  • Some workstations may require sitting or standing for extended periods of time.
  • Must be able to frequently lift, bend, and reach to perform necessary job functions.
  • Must be able to lift up to 25 pounds safely.
  • Must be able to identify alpha / numeric product codes.
  • Must be able to work a flexible schedule including weekends, holidays, and over-time
