What your day looks like: Under maximum supervision, perform, stage, wrap, box, and weigh all fresh/smoked meats and associated products. Additional responsibilities for recording correct weights on boxes and checking correct products enclosed. Make sure products are uniform prior to wrapping and/or boxing.  May be required to trim excess or unwanted material.  Pack and stage constantly assuring packaging is uniform and attractive.  Separate products into proper classification.  Visually inspect products for unacceptable flaw or TQC concerns.  Perform final quality checks prior to release. Maintain and observe safety, sanitary and TQC or USDA standards. Perform all other duties as assigned.  Backup for this position is other Packers.

Specific Responsibilities:

·        Handle all products and equipment in the proper manner.

·       Place all products in the correct package.

·       Record and document all weights when necessary.

·       Assure products are placed in the proper container/carton.

·       Communicate all SQF, quality and safety concerns to the supervisor.

·       Transport product to other areas of production when necessary.

·       Keep packaging supplies constant and replace when necessary.

·       Continually check for proper labels on all Leidy's products and any private labels when necessary.

·       Maintain pace in order to achieve requested production levels.

·       Assure proper product packaging, labeling, etc. on boxes.

Other Responsibilities: Maintain positive working relationships with managers and fellow employees. Perform all other duties as assigned in accordance with Leidy’s employee handbook. Abide by all safety rules and regulations and all applicable laws and standards. Communicate any concerns to the supervisor when necessary. Other duties and responsibilities as assigned by Supervisor.

Who Are You: Associate degree or 5 years in meat industry or similar experience. Food or Meat industry experience is a plus. Ability to work in a cold/wet environment and with a very diverse workforce. Excellent written/verbal communication/presentation skills. Strong interpersonal skills. Ability to function at a high level within a team environment. Ability to work independently and with individuals from multiple disciplines and with varying levels of experience. Ability to excel in a fast-paced environment where change and growth are part of the culture. Strong MS Excel, Word, and PowerPoint skills a plus. Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail. Bilingual, English and Spanish, a plus.
