Job Summary

We are seeking an experienced, results-driven Packing Manager to lead warehouse packing and order fulfillment operations. This role is responsible for managing staff, ensuring inventory accuracy, optimizing workflows, and maintaining high packing standards to ensure all customer orders are fulfilled accurately and on time. The ideal candidate is a strong leader with excellent planning, analytical skills, and hands-on experience with warehouse systems and shipping operations.

Key Responsibilities
Warehouse Operations & Order Fulfillment
• Oversee daily packing and fulfillment to ensure orders are picked, packed, and shipped accurately and on time
• Monitor order flow, prioritize urgent shipments, and maintain productivity and quality standards
• Maintain packing standards including quality, labeling, and material usage

Team Leadership & Workforce Management
• Supervise, train, and manage warehouse staff (pickers/packers)
• Assign tasks and set performance expectations (KPIs such as accuracy and pick rates)
• Manage schedules, labor allocation, and overtime
• Conduct evaluations and provide coaching or corrective action
• Promote accountability, safety, and continuous improvement

Inventory Accuracy & Control
• Monitor inventory levels, accuracy, and locations within systems
• Partner on cycle counts, reconciliations, and discrepancy resolution
• Investigate short picks, damages, and mispicks
• Ensure proper practices such as FIFO, lot, or serial tracking

Process Optimization & Continuous Improvement
• Analyze workflows to improve efficiency and reduce errors
• Implement Lean, 5S, and Kaizen initiatives
• Identify bottlenecks and optimize layout and picking strategies

Quality Control & Accuracy
• Ensure high order accuracy standards (target 99%+)
• Conduct audits of picking and packing processes
• Reduce errors, returns, and damages through improvements
Technology & Systems Management
• Utilize WMS to track orders and inventory
• Ensure proper use of RF scanners and barcode systems
• Troubleshoot system issues with IT support
• Maintain accurate inventory and order data

Safety & Compliance
• Enforce OSHA and warehouse safety standards
• Conduct safety training and incident investigations
• Ensure proper PPE use and safe handling procedures
• Maintain a clean, organized work environment

Shipping & Carrier Coordination
• Coordinate with carriers (UPS, FedEx, LTL) for timely shipments
• Manage shipping documentation and labeling
• Resolve delays and delivery issues

Reporting & KPI Management
• Track and report KPIs (order accuracy, picks/hour, shipments, productivity)
• Provide regular reports and use data to drive improvements

Customer Support
• Partner with customer service to resolve fulfillment issues
• Support urgent or high-priority shipments

Qualifications
• High school diploma required; bachelor’s preferred (Logistics, Supply Chain, Business)
• 5+ years of warehouse/fulfillment experience with leadership
• Strong knowledge of warehouse operations and inventory control
• Experience with WMS, RF scanners, and shipping software
• Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and KPI reporting

Preferred Skills
• Experience with Lean, 5S, or Kaizen
• Knowledge of OSHA and warehouse safety compliance
• Ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines
• Bilingual in English and Spanish is a plus
