Description
The Quality Assurance Supervisor is responsible for managing and implementing quality assurance and control systems to ensure the proper execution of products and customer satisfaction. The Quality Assurance Supervisor ensures that customers are pleased with the finished product by communicating with them and setting realistic expectations. Additionally, this role provides reports on quality metrics to other members of the management team.
Essential Functions:
  • Supervise, train, and coordinate schedules for Fowler Packing Quality Assurance Inspectors across the fresh citrus presort & pack lines.
  • Enforce strict fruit grading to ensure minimal percentages of serious or damaged citrus leave the plant, keeping fruit compliant with customer specifications.
  • Oversee the testing of internal and external fruit quality, including brix, acid ratios, rind condition, size, and color sorting.
  • Maintain a safety-conscious team environment near dangerous machinery and forklift traffic while strictly adhering to GMP, HACCP, and food safety compliance.
  • Generate and interpret detailed daily quality records from the field to final consumer packaging, directly communicating trends to production managers and stakeholders.

Requirements
  • Experience: 2 - 4 years of supervisor or lead inspector experience in a fresh produce packing house environment (citrus experience highly preferred).
  • Language Skills: Bilingual in English and Spanish is highly preferred to train and coach line personnel but not mandatory.
  • Physical Standards: Must be capable of standing on the concrete packing floor for long periods and ability to lift up to 50 lbs.
  • Technical Skills: Familiarity with automated sorting equipment and basic software.
  • Vaid CA DL/Clean drivers record may be required.
