Job description

Shipping Associate

Monday-Friday 9AM-5:30PM

The Shipping Associate is responsible for moving products from the packing area to the shipping area, scanning the orders and prepare the orders for loading into delivery trucks. Transporting the products and loading the trucks may occur outside of the building, including during the summer. The associate will be required to physically move boxes to stage the order per customer. This will require physical agility to twist, turn, lift, squat, walk, and read fine details of the order. Must be able to lift 40 pounds unassisted.

Tasks

  • Moves products from the packing area, by hand or using trucks, hand operated pallet jacks, forklifts or other equipment.
  • Sorts packaged product by specific order to pallets.
  • Confirms orders by scanning boxes and stages in warehouse.
  • Reads work orders and receives oral instructions to determine work assignments or materials needed for staging.
  • Bundles larger bulk orders and stages safely using warehouse equipment.
  • Records numbers of units handled or moved, using daily production sheets or work tickets.
  • Maintains storage areas clean and performs daily checks on equipment to ensure that inventory is protected.
  • Checks continually for damaged products, removes the damaged boxes and notifies manager.

Requires

  • Must be able to lift 40 lbs. unassisted.
  • Must be able to be forklift certified.
  • Must be able to perform considerable use of arms and legs and moving the whole body, such as climbing, lifting, balancing, walking, stooping, and handling of materials.
  • Must have the skills to use the hands and arms in handling, installing, positioning, and moving materials, and manipulating tools and equipment.
