Job description

Every Meal's mission is to fight child hunger through community and school partnerships. Visit everymeal.org to learn more about what we do and how you can help.

As a Food Bag Packing Volunteer, you'll join other members of the community at our Volunteer Center in Roseville to help pack food for our Weekend Meal Program. In this high-energy and high-impact volunteer opportunity, you'll form assembly lines to pack bags containing 4-5 Lbs of shelf-stable fruits, vegetables, proteins and grains. Every food bag we distribute to hungry children in our community is packed by volunteers. Food bags are placed in the backpacks of students at the end of each school week to provide nutrition over the weekend.

You can register for our packing events as a team or an individual.

Our age minimum to volunteer is 8 years old.

Closed-toed shoes are required for volunteering. Masks are currently not required.

Please note: No experience or diploma needed; Every Meal will provide all necessary training. We strongly encourage people of color, indigenous, immigrants, refugees, LGBTQ+, and people with disabilities to volunteer.

Packing event shift times vary throughout the week. Generally shifts to choose from are 9-11am, 1-3pm and occasionally 6-8pm. Please note our core program runs durning the school year.
