Shipping Position

Shipping is responsible for shipment of products. This position is responsible for picking product and packing for shipment, preparing outbound freight and air shipments to include international shipping as well. This position requires a strong focus on administrative duties/responsibilities to include, record organization and retention.

Essential Job Functions:
  • Maintains safe work habits including safe operation of powered industrial trucks (P.I.T.) and proper lifting techniques.
  • Gathers, verifies, and packs items for shipment according to specifications and transportation methods used.
  • Follow standard work instructions to ensure high accuracy and quality of product to our customer.
  • Keeps picked orders organized and with all proper paperwork.
  • Effectively selects correct size boxes & packs utilizing stable gun, packing produce, tape dispenser.
  • Systematically locates product for shipment, pulls proper product/quantity and delivers to packing lines utilizing various material handling equipment.
  • Uses order system (Oracle) to pick wave, look up material transaction history, run and read reports.
  • Self-sufficient in routine assigned tasks and capable of independent follow-up related to these tasks.
  • Operates material handling equipment as required to move parts, fixtures and materials.
  • Ensures on-time delivery of product.
  • Problem solves for customers and suppliers about shipping routes, delayed items, and rush orders.
  • Ensures that all responsibilities and functions performed are in accordance with company policy and procedures and meet required quality standards.
  • Reports all non-conformances to appropriate levels.
  • Must be able to obtain power industrial truck certification.
  • Conducts checks of equipment operated
  • Advises supervisor of conduct that may violate rules, policies, and procedures.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Experience:
  • Prefer previous shipping experience in a manufacturing environment
  • Experience with MS Excel
  • Some experience with powered industrial vehicles preferred
  • Oracle experience preferred
Education and Certification Qualifications:
  • High school diploma or equivalent education or experience
Physical Requirements:
  • Ability to lift up to 40 pounds
  • Stand 10 hours a day
  • Good manual dexterity
  • Eye hand coordination and attention to detail
  • Ability to bend, twist and turn.
