Principal Accountabilities:
Packaging Operation and Risk management
Operate multi-function machinery and process control equipment through control panels, computer terminals and other miscellaneous control systems to receive, transfer, grind, batch/blend, pellet/extrude, bag and ship animal feed/petfood safely and efficiently
Maintain shift- & process logs as well as several other lean management related documents
Observe gauges, monitors etc. to ensure compliance with critical to quality specifications
Set up and adjust processing and packaging equipment to efficiently and safely manufacture animal feed/petfood
Perform miscellaneous operator care related maintenance duties as well as aid troubleshooting processes guided by maintenance technicians
Understanding and adhering to all safety rules and regulations
Maintaining a safe and clean work environment
Other duties as assigned

Required Qualifications:
Must be legally entitled to work for Cargill in Canada
Cargill requires that employees be a minimum of 18 years old
Ability to perform physical job duties which may include bending, lifting 50 lbs kneeling, climbing, crawling, and twisting safely, with or without a reasonable accommodation
Ability to work in varied indoor and outdoor conditions which may include heat, cold, dust, loud noise, etc., with the use of personal protective equipment
Ability to work in elevated areas (4 feet and above)
Ability to understand and communicate in English (verbal/written)
Basic use of a computer
Ability to work overtime including weekends, holidays, or different shifts with advance notice


Preferred Qualifications:

Prior experience in production related work
Previous forklift experience
Proven ability to manage compliance with Environment, Health & Safety and Operations standards and regulations
Knowledge of inventory control, quality management, operating efficiency, agricultural experience or specialized knowledge of grain handling and crop input products
Mechanical aptitude with the ability to operate, service, and troubleshoot machinery
Previous expereince on animal feed/pet food manufacturing process and process control system
High School diploma or Equivalent
