Job Description

This role focuses on accurately packing, labeling, and staging plastic parts and related products according to specifications while maintaining a clean, safe, and efficient work area. You will perform visual inspections, handle materials, and support overall production flow in a fast-paced environment that requires attention to detail and consistent, dependable performance.

Responsibilities

• Inspect plastic parts for defects and verify that products meet quality specifications, rejecting items that do not meet standards.
• Pack, seal, and label boxes accurately according to work instructions and customer requirements.
• Palletize and stage finished products for shipment, ensuring proper placement, stability, and identification.
• Use basic tools such as tape guns, box cutters, and hand pallet jacks safely and correctly during packing and material handling tasks.
• Record production counts on travelers, labels, or through simple computer or scanner entries to maintain accurate inventory and production data.
• Perform order picking and material handling tasks to support production and shipping activities.
• Assist with loading and unloading materials as needed to keep production and shipping operations running smoothly.
• Follow all standard operating procedures (SOPs), work instructions, and safety guidelines to maintain a safe and compliant work environment.
• Keep the work area clean, organized, and free of debris to support efficient workflow and safety.
• Work collaboratively with team members and support production flow by performing general labor and assembly tasks as assigned.
• Remain on task in a fast-paced environment, completing repetitive duties with consistent accuracy and quality.
• Be willing to work overtime and occasional weekends when production demands require it.

Essential Skills

• Experience with packing, packaging, and production support in a fast-paced environment.
• Ability to perform visual inspections and identify defects in plastic parts according to specifications.
• Proficiency in basic material handling tasks, including order picking, loading, unloading, and palletizing.
• Comfort using basic tools such as tape guns, box cutters, and hand pallet jacks.
• Ability to lift 35–50 pounds regularly and stand or walk for 8–12 hours per shift while performing repetitive motions.
• Basic ability to record counts on travelers, labels, or through simple computer or scanner entries; basic PC or RF scanner familiarity is a plus.
• Reliable, dependable attendance with a strong record of following directions and completing assigned tasks.
• Ability to work overtime and occasional weekends as needed to meet production schedules.
• Strong teamwork skills and willingness to support various production and general labor tasks.
• Adherence to safety procedures and standard operating procedures at all times.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
• Experience with RF scanners for inventory, picking, or shipping tasks.
• Exposure to forklift operations or warehouse environments.
• Experience in general labor, assembly, or material handling roles.
• Comfort working with repetitive tasks in a high-volume, fast-paced setting.

Work Environment

This position is based in a production and warehouse setting where you will work around plastic parts, packaging materials, and pallets. The environment is fast paced and involves standing and walking for 8–12 hours per shift, performing repetitive tasks and frequent lifting of 35–50 pounds. You will use basic tools such as tape guns, box cutters, and hand pallet jacks, and may work around forklifts and RF scanners for inventory and picking. The role may require overtime and occasional weekend shifts to meet production demands. The workspace emphasizes cleanliness and organization, with a strong focus on following safety procedures and standard operating guidelines.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Sparta, NJ.

The pay range for this position is $19.00 - $21.00/hr.

Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
