Job description

Job Title: Production Packer
Job Duration: 10 months contract
Location: Ennis, TX 75119
Shift: 01:30 PM - 10:30 PM (Mon to Fri)
Packer Primary Duties:
  • Perform all packer duties including, packing boxes, and erecting cartons, assisting on startups, shutdown, and product changes.
  • Required to maintain and exceed all quality standards.
  • Maintain a clean and organized packaging area.
  • Performs all scheduled line quality checks
  • Use of tape measure to determine material conformance.
  • Conducts box count and output data collection regularly.
REQUIRED EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE & SKILLS:
  • Safety awareness throughout.
  • Experience with manufacturing/ plastics extrusion industry is desirable.
  • Basic math skills required (including fractions). * Attention to detail is critical. Product knowledge desirable.
  • Light lifting required up to 50 pounds.

What To Expect:
  • Operate all equipment as assigned while following standard work practices.
  • Use various tools to cut, process, and assemble all window components.
  • Routine usage of material handling equipment and packing/labeling finished goods.
  • Have strong attention to detail to inspect windows and equipment for quality and any defects.
  • Maintain a safe and clean work environment within assigned and surrounding workspace while ensuring to meet all safety standards and practices.
  • Load machines, pack product, pull items, prepare labels, and support projects as required.
  • Actively contribute and effectively communicate to the team.
  • Other duties as assigned, including housekeeping and cross-training to become proficient across multiple positions and production lines.

Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or GED, or equivalent work experience. Preferred experience of 1-2 years in a manufacturing / production environment
  • Proficiency in spoken and written English sufficient to
  • Read and understand safety procedures, hazard warnings, and equipment operating instructions.
  • Accurately complete production records, quality checklists, and incident reports in English.
  • Communicate effectively with supervisors, maintenance personnel, and team members to ensure safe and efficient operations.
  • English proficiency is required for these tasks to comply with OSHA workplace safety standards and regulatory documentation requirements.
  • Ability to adapt in fast-paced environment and motivated to become well-versed within multiple areas of operations.
  • Strong attention detail and willingness to work independently or as part of a team and contribute to all areas of operations.
  • Understand how to collaborate with a variety of different people and roles.

Physical Requirements:
  • The atmosphere is that of a manufacturing plant. The position will primarily work where moving machinery produces noise. Temperature can range from extreme cold to extreme heat.
  • Physical demands to include movements, positioning, remaining stationary which include standing, walking, sitting, lifting, carrying, climbing, pushing/pulling, forward bending, reaching, kneeling, crouching, squatting, crawling, postural balancing, manipulating, trunk rotation, handling, gripping, and talking (hearing).
  • Must be able to lift up to 50lbs without assistance, based on position, 80lbs-100lb with assistance.
  • Employees must wear Personal Protective Equipment that is issued for that location.
