Job Description

The Packaging Operator is responsible for the final packaging of various flavors including powders, spray dry, liquids, emulsions, and extracts according to batch ticket directions. This role involves working closely with Batch Processors to ensure food safety, quality, efficiency, and accuracy in packaging. The position may require operating machinery such as mixers, spray dryers, and blending tanks. The ability to read labels and follow safety procedures is essential, as is packaging the correct finished product quantity with the correct label requirements.

Responsibilities

• Observe production and monitor equipment to ensure safe and efficient operation.
• Record operational and production data on specified forms.
• Transfer materials, supplies, and products between work areas using equipment and sit-down forklifts.
• Understand the impact and importance of food safety and communicate any concerns to shift leads or management.
• Follow standard operating procedures, including the sanitation of equipment after each batch.

Essential Skills

• Ability to lift and handle packaging materials.
• Experience in packing, manufacturing, and general labor.
• Understanding of Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP).
• Proficiency in using forklifts, pallet jacks, and other material-handling equipment.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Wauconda, IL.

The pay range for this position is $17.00 - $18.00/hr.

Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
