Job description

The Neil Jones Food Company is an industry leader, processing superior quality fresh-packed, vine-ripened California tomatoes and Pacific Northwest fruit. Headquartered in Vancouver, Washington, NJFC has been providing our nation’s discerning foodservice, retail, industrial and institutional customers with the finest quality canned and pouched products for over 50 years. NJFC operates three production facilities: Northwest Packing in Vancouver, WA.; San Benito Foods, in Hollister, CA; and Toma-Tek in Firebaugh, CA.

We are looking for a Seasonal- Forklift Operator Stacker to stack products safely, properly, and adhere to all directives given for daily functions, other duties assigned as needed. Tasks may include many assignments when production is not in operation. This role will be responsible for safe and efficient operation of a forklift, put away, and transfer of stock from one location to another using a variety of different forklift types, including electric and propane lifts, at our TomaTek plant in Firebaugh, CA. This is a seasonal position supporting our fresh pack season, typically June – October.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Pre & post inspections of Power Industrial Truck (PID) or forklift.
  • Final inspection of all pallets prior to being put away or during put away.
  • Identifying all product is tagged and approved to be moved, all like item product must be put away in the same location and follows all put away directives given at pre-shift meetings.
  • Proper inventorying of product at put away locations, and records number of pallets placed in row during placement.

Requirements:

  • At least 3 years of forklift experience and ability to pass a pre-employment skills assessment by a trainer on staff.
  • Safety first mentality.
  • Basic math skills.
  • Ability to read, write and speak English to be able to read and interpret documents, completed required documentation, and speak effectively to co-workers, supervisors, and upper management.
  • Ability to pass a pre-employment drug test, work extended hours, weekends, and any shift assigned during the fresh pack season, typically July to early October.
