SUMMARY

The Bagger Packer performs the role of providing support to packaging and production operations by performing processes which include, but are not limited to, procuring and placing bags on packaging equipment, hauling scrap, salvaging insulation and feeding into reconditioning equipment, transporting direct materials, cleaning designated equipment and areas, loading material onto ware-trucks, and operating designated vehicles. Sets up, operates, monitors, adjusts, troubleshoots, and maintains equipment related to these processes. Measures, monitors, and maintains quality standards.

Principal Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Visually inspects, selects, and packages products according to process and product characteristics.

  • Positions, loads, and unloads, ware trucks and racks
  • Disposes of off-quality material or other waste material
  • Re-piles, re-labels or repacks finished goods as directed
  • Notifies appropriate personnel of any equipment or quality problems
  • Participates in Oven Clean Outs, Regular Clean Outs, rebuilds and other downtimes
  • Assists in adjustment of equipment and in moving materials
  • Assists in clearing jams and in arranging the work area during job changes
  • Packs, tapes, and loads boxes on trucks
  • Chalks, labels, or otherwise marks products as directed
  • Hauls cullet
  • Performs cleanup duties as required
  • Assists supervisor in training
  • Participates in the safety and good housekeeping programs as established within the plant
  • Relieves operators in the area

  • Complies with all plant rules, safety regulations and maintains a clean and orderly work area
  • Complies with attendance policies
  • Performs other related duties consistent with the nature of the job as directed by the supervisor

SKILLS AND ABILITIES

The employee should hold the following abilities:

  • Must be able to read, write and speak English
  • Must be able to understand verbal and written instructions
  • Must possess strong communication and organizational skills
  • Must have the ability to multi-task

  • Must have strong customer service skills

  • Must work well in team environment
  • Must be able to secure and maintain forklift driver license
  • Must be able to work independently
  • Must have to ability to do basic mathematical calculations

COMPUTER AND SOFTWARE COMPENTENCIES

The employee must be able to:

  • Operate a computer or other keyboard instrument

EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE

The employee should have the following:

  • High School Diploma or GED Equivalent
  • Proof of legal authorization to work in the United States
  • Must be 18 years or older
  • Must be drug and alcohol free

ESSENTIAL PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS/WORK ENVIRONMENT

The employee should possess the ability to:

  • Work varying or rotating shifts
  • Exposure to hot/cold temperature- continuously
  • Exposure to noise- continuously
  • Lifting/carrying/moving up to 50 pounds
  • Standing- continuously
  • Stooping - frequently
  • Twisting - frequently
  • Bending - frequently
  • Hand/Eye Coordination- continuously
  • Handling (grasping, holding) - continuously
  • Walking - frequently

SCHEDULE

Monday - Friday, rotating schedule of Days 5:45a-2p, Swings 1:45p-10p, and Graveyard 9:45p-6a. Schedule rotates every 6 weeks.

Pay rate: $22.50 hourly
