Dal-Tile is currently seeking a Manufacturing Machine Operator to join our MFG TEAM! As the Manufacturing Machine Operator, we need someone to operate production equipment, monitor production parameters, and make decisions on when to adjust the process.

Primary Objective

Operates production equipment, monitors production parameters, inspects or tests product for conformance to specifications, records data, and makes decisions on when to adjust the process or contact supervision for guidance.

Major Function and Scope
  • Operates production equipment according to standard operating procedures.
  • May function as a sorter, box assembler, or relief operator for the kiln or automatic sorting equipment.
  • Conducts tests or inspections as required on the control plan and according to test methods.
  • Performs additional job tasks as documented in the job task check sheet.
  • May stop production equipment when a safety, quality, or mechanical problem prevents equipment use or conformance to product requirements.
  • Follows ISO operating procedures and maintains quality checks as specified.
  • Monitors equipment or processes and reports problems to supervisor.
  • Keeps area safe, clean, and organized.
  • Performs other related duties as required.
Experience and Knowledge Required
  • High school diploma or equivalent experience.
  • 1 year of manufacturing experience preferred.
Competencies
  • Routinely works at heights that require fall protection.
  • Good oral communication skills.
  • Good listening skills.
  • Ability to understand and speak basic English.

While performing the duties of this job, the associate is regularly required to stand, use hands, and reach with hands and arms. The associate is required to walk, stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl. The associate may be required to sometimes sit, climb, or balance. The associate may lift and/or move up to 50 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this position include close vision, peripheral vision, and the ability to adjust focus. While performing the duties of this job, the associate is regularly exposed to moving mechanical parts. The associate is occasionally exposed to fumes or airborne particles. The associate may be exposed to a wide range of temperatures. The noise level is usually loud. Candidates must be flexible to work any shift (A, B, C, or D) based on business needs.  Night shift positions are eligible for a shift differential, with the amount varying depending on the assigned night shift.
