Job description

Job Summary
Primal Pet Foods is seeking reliable and hardworking individuals to join our production team as Heavy Lifters in our Montrose, Colorado facility. This position is responsible for performing production work throughout the facility, including starting, operating, tending, stopping, and cleaning machines, as well as assembling finished products.
Team members will inspect products to ensure high quality and compliance with company standards and procedures. This role requires rotation between production machines and locations at least every 2 hours as needed to support workflow and efficiency.
This is a physically demanding position that requires regular heavy lifting, carrying, pushing, and pulling of raw materials and boxes of finished goods in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.

What You'll Do
Production Operations
  • Start, operate, tend, stop, and clean production equipment
  • Assemble finished products according to specifications
  • Rotate between machines and production areas every 2 hours as required
  • Assist with production line tasks and workflow support
Quality & Compliance
  • Inspect products to ensure quality standards are met
  • Follow all company procedures, GMPs, HACCP, and food safety guidelines
  • Ensure compliance with all operational and quality requirements
Heavy Material Handling
  • Perform regular heavy lifting, carrying, pushing, and pulling of raw materials and finished goods
  • Load and unload materials, carts, and production equipment
  • Move product safely to designated areas following company procedures
  • Assist with packaging, sorting, wrapping, and repacking as needed
Equipment & Cleaning
  • Clean and sanitize production equipment and work areas
  • Remove debris and maintain housekeeping standards throughout the shift
  • Support proper breakdown and cleaning of machines as required
Additional Responsibilities
  • Follow instructions from supervisors and team leads
  • Support production needs across different areas as required
  • Maintain punctual and regular attendance

Qualifications
Required
  • Minimum 3 months of related experience or training preferred
  • Ability to follow written and verbal instructions
  • Basic math and measurement skills
  • Strong attention to safety, quality, and detail
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced production environment

Physical Requirements
  • Ability to stand and walk for extended periods
  • Regularly lift up to 50 lbs
  • Occasionally lift and/or move up to 75 lbs without assistance
  • Ability to lift/move more than 75 lbs with assistance
  • Exposure to cold environments, loud noise, and moving mechanical equipment

Compensation
💲 $17.61 per hour

🕒 Shift 1
Monday - Friday
6:00 AM - 14:30 PM
⚠ Candidates must be flexible and available to work daily overtime as needed.
