Your role at Clorox:

The Clorox Company is seeking a qualified candidate for a Packaging Operator position at our Aberdeen, MD facility. This facility uses automated packaging equipment and utilities to manufacture and distribute Clorox Liquid Bleach products. Packaging Associates are responsible for filling containers with liquid bleach products. These responsibilities require knowledge of the operation of the filling equipment, a system of equipment located along a conveyor. Filling and packaging equipment may include an orientor, labeler, filler, capper, check weigh, coder, case packer and case sealer. The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring that all equipment is in excellent working condition, and that products are being manufactured to the highest standards of quality and efficiency.
Candidates must be able to work three (3) shifts times and overtime as business needs dictate, for example:1st shift: (7am - 3:30pm,) 2nd shift: (3pm - 11:30pm), 3rd shift: (11pm - 7:30am).
Starting Hourly rate: $24.92- $28.30. Operating in a fast-paced manufacturing and distribution environment. Candidate must satisfactorily complete the employment application with attached resume, as well as complete a pre-employment physical, drug screen, and background check.

In this role, you will:

Responsibilities are dependent upon skill level and may include but not limited to the following for each role.Some responsibilities may be rotated, and some tasks require certification to perform.

  • Manufacturing work environment.Primary hazards include working around electrical equipment, rotating equipment, slipping, falling, lifting, and moving heavy equipment.Because the associate works most of the time with moving equipment, concentration on the task at hand as well as an awareness of the overall operation is important.

  • In degree of strenuousness, these positions may be considered as medium work.Medium work is defined as exerting up to 50 pounds of force occasionally and/or up to 20 pounds of force frequently and/or up to 20 pounds of force constantly to move objects.Objects weighing 50 or more pounds should be lifted/moved with assistance.Equipment used to assist with lifting may include a hydraulic pallet stand, genie boom, scissors lift, forklift, and cart.

  • Operate packaging line equipment, ensuring that it is set up and maintained properly.

  • Perform changeovers on all equipment, following established procedures and protocols.

  • Fix and repair any equipment malfunctions or failures, using your mechanical knowledge and skills.

  • Identify and accurate quality problems, working with teams as needed to ensure that products meet or exceed established quality standards.

  • Maintain an accurate inventory of all supplies and parts assigned ordering replacements as needed.

  • Assist with completion of improvement projects and equipment installations, working with the engineering team as needed.

  • Follow all safety procedures and protocols, ensuring all equipment is operated safely and responsibly.

  • Document all maintenance and repair work in accordance with established procedures.

  • Attending all required training sessions, staying up to date on new equipment and technologies.

What we look for:

  • High School diploma or GED or (2) years of operator experience in a manufacturing environment.

  • Good, effective oral and written communication skills.

  • Basic computer knowledge including MS Office, Email.

  • Must be able to work a varied shift of either (1st, 2nd or 3rd shift).

  • Must be able to stand/walk up to 8 hours per shift.

  • Resume required.

  • 5 years of Experience in a manufacturing environment/packaging department (preferred).

  • Other transferable skills such as packaging equipment, auto mechanics, maintenance, blow molding, electrical, or machine shop (preferred.)

  • Military experience in the above (preferred).
