Job description

The Packaging Operator will inspect and package various shapes of metal preforms or stampings into various types of containers as required.

Essential Functions:

  • Inspect, weigh and package extremely small thin parts.
  • Perform visual inspections on parts prior to packing.
  • Reject nonconforming parts following established procedures.
  • Perform screening as required.
  • Package products according to customer requirements as shown on the picklist and apply labels as instructed to packages.
  • Accurately collect and input data into the computer.
  • Maintain cleanliness of work area and assigned equipment.
  • Follow all safety guidelines and wear proper PPE when in the manufacturing area.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned by supervisor and/or management.

Position Requirements:

  • Safety conscious with excellent verbal and written communication skills and good mathematical aptitude.
  • Ability to grasp and handle products ranging from extremely small to large.
  • Basic computer skills required. Must be able to make computer transactions into the ERP system.
  • Must be able to perform duties without external distractions, such as mobile phones and personal electronic devices.
  • Ability to use a microscope, magnifying lens, tweezers, and other hand tools as assigned.
  • Must be able to lift up to 25 pounds and anything heavier with assistance or hand tools.
  • High School Diploma or GED
