Job Description
The Packaging Manager is responsible for directing all packaging line operations, equipment performance, and staff. Ensure food products are safely and efficiently packed to meet quality rules, customer orders, and budget targets.
Responsibilities
  • Operations Oversight: Run daily packing schedules, reduce line downtime, and maximize output speed.
  • Food Safety & Compliance: Enforce strict sanitation standards, including GMP, HACCP, and SQF guidelines.
  • Team Leadership: Hire, train, and mentor packaging line operators and shift supervisors.
  • Quality Control: Inspect finished packages for seal integrity, accurate labeling, and correct weight.
  • Continuous Improvement: Lead lean manufacturing projects to cut waste and lower material costs.
  • Cross-Functional Work: Partner with maintenance, quality assurance, and supply chain teams.
Educational Requirements
Preferred - Bachelor's degree in Packaging Science, Engineering, Food Science, or a related field.
Experience Level
  • 3 to 7+ years of supervisory or technical experience in food and beverage manufacturing.
  • Ability to develop and maintain productive and positive relationships with federal/state/local agencies, vendors, customers and employees.
  • Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from internal/external customers.
