Who You Are:

As the Senior Packaging Designer, you will play a critical role in ideating, developing, and executing best-in-class packaging design across all brands and product lines. You will work directly with the VP of Creative and Director of Art to bring brand strategies to life through innovative, commercially effective, and visually compelling packaging systems.
This role requires a balance of conceptual creativity, technical packaging expertise, and forward-thinking innovation, including the strategic use of AI-driven design tools to accelerate ideation, visualization, and production workflows. You will create packaging solutions that not only elevate brand storytelling but also meet functional, production, and sustainability requirements.
You will collaborate cross-functionally with Brand, Product Innovation, and Operations teams, as well as external partners, to ensure all packaging delivers on design excellence, manufacturability, and market impact.

What You're Good At:

  • Lead the concepting and design of packaging systems from initial ideation through production-ready execution, ensuring alignment with brand strategy and objectives.
  • Develop innovative packaging concepts, structures, and visual identities that balance aesthetics, functionality, and shelf impact.
  • Translate brand positioning into compelling packaging design solutions across multiple product categories and formats.
  • Partner closely with the VP of Creative and Director of Art to evolve and elevate packaging design vision across all brands.
  • Leverage AI tools and generative design platforms to rapidly ideate, iterate, and present multiple creative directions, including mockups and 3D visualizations.
  • Create and refine dielines, layouts, and production-ready files, ensuring accuracy across print, materials, and manufacturing requirements.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional stakeholders (Brand, Product, Operations, Supply Chain) to align packaging with product, cost, and timeline constraints.
  • Work with vendors, printers, and manufacturers to ensure feasibility, quality, and consistency of final production outputs.
  • Stay current with industry trends, materials innovation, sustainability practices, and consumer behavior to inform design decisions.
  • Develop mockups, prototypes, and presentations to communicate design intent to stakeholders and leadership.
  • Contribute to the creation and evolution of packaging design systems and brand guidelines.
  • Mentor junior designers and contribute to a culture of creative excellence and innovation.
  • (Optional/Plus) Create custom illustrations and original graphic elements to enhance packaging storytelling and distinctiveness.

What You Contribute:

  • Bachelor's degree in Graphic Design, Packaging Design, Industrial Design, or related field
  • 6-10+ years of experience in packaging design within a creative agency, CPG brand, or design-driven organization
  • Strong portfolio demonstrating conceptual thinking, structural packaging, and visual design excellence
  • Expertise in Adobe Creative Suite (Illustrator, Photoshop, InDesign) and packaging-specific workflows (dielines, prepress, production)
  • Experience designing packaging from concept through production and manufacturing
  • Proficiency or strong interest in AI-powered creative tools for concept generation, mockups, and workflow optimization
  • Understanding of materials, printing processes, and sustainable packaging solutions
  • Strong knowledge of branding, typography, color, and visual storytelling
  • Excellent collaboration and communication skills with cross-functional teams
  • Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment
