DELI-BAKERY GENERAL MANAGER
As a Deli-Bakery General Manager at Military Deli & Bakery Services you will have the opportunity to serve our nation's Military personnel and their families at one of our 103 US Military Commissary locations. At MDBS our number one goal is to demonstrate a love for food and a passion for people while creating an excellent customer service experience for our well-deserving military customers! The Deli-Bakery General Manager will provide friendly, courteous, and prompt customer service while attaining budgeted sales and profit goals, training, and supervising associates.

Job Description:
  • Unifies and motivates their team through praise and recognition of success with immediate feedback to build an environment of trust.
  • Has a passion for people through consistently treating others with respect and dignity.
  • Trains and develops associates to meet standards in all aspects, policies, and procedures.
  • Assists and communicates with customers in a friendly, courteous, and prompt manner; receives and records special customer orders via the telephone or in the store utilizing suggestive sales techniques.
  • Directs and participates in Deli/Bakery activities to include receiving, designing, preparing, pricing, displaying, maintaining, and ordering product in order to maximize sales, earnings, and customer satisfaction.
  • Follows all food safety regulations and guidelines.
  • Conducts weekly sales meetings with the teams to establish merchandising, sales, and profit objectives.
  • Updates Department for seasonal merchandising.
  • Attains budgeted sales and profit goals.
  • Prepares weekly work schedule to ensure adequate coverage and service level, while adhering to weekly sales/labor rate.
  • Monitors, complies, and enforces government and MDBS policies and procedures.

Qualifications:
  • Management experience in retail, food service and/or Deli/Bakery.
  • Knowledge and understanding of all equipment in the Deli/Bakery such as slicers and ovens according to company guidelines.
  • Must be able to perform the essential job functions of this position with or without accommodation.
  • Effective communication skills.
  • The ability to deal with conflict and resolution within the department. While maintaining a professional relationship.
  • Ability to frequently reach, lift, and maneuver objects of varying dimensions and weights up to approximately 50 lbs.
  • Ability to stand for long periods of time, walk, move rapidly, bend, stoop, twist and turn frequently.
  • Manual dexterity and good hand-eye coordination are necessary.
  • Available to work nights, weekends, and holidays.
  • Must have a valid Food Safety Management Certification or be able to obtain one within 30 days from the hire date.
