Job description

Position Title: Material Handler

Duration: 12 Months with possibility of extension

Location: Houston, TX 77032

Shift hours: M - F 8:00 am - 5:00 pm

Job Description:

Performs the physical or administrative tasks involved in the shipping, receiving, storing and distributing of materials, parts, supplies and equipment. Unpacks and checks goods received against purchase orders or invoices, maintains records of received goods and rejects unsatisfactory items.

Lifts heavy items and may operate a forklift. Prepares and maintains records of merchandise shipped. Posts weights and shipping charges and prepares goods for final shipment. Examines, stocks and distributes materials in inventory and on manufacturing lines. May prepare kitting packages for assembly production.

Interacts daily with peers and customers (typically internal) to exchange or present factual information. Works on assignments that are routine in nature, requiring limited judgment. Has little or no role in decision-making. Receives predetermined assignments subject to moderate level of control and review. Normally receives detailed instructions on all work. Works under close supervision.
