Job description

Package Handler

The package handler is responsible for accurately checking, packaging, sealing, assembling and loading packages of customer orders in a manner that meets company standards for quality and productivity. Responsible for the operation of all equipment, including automatic sealer and packing machine.

In an effort, to provide the highest level of customer service, all warehouse associates will be cross trained to be proficient in shipping, order picking, stock put away and replenishment, other basic inventory control functions, and basic receiving functions. Compensation will be $17 an hour.

Job Responsibilities

  • Fill boxes with dunnage and seal securely to prevent damage in transit
  • Sort packages by carrier and ship method
  • Make sure packages are properly labeled
  • Ensure items are placed in the correct parcel container
  • Sort packages between box or envelope
  • Build pallet of outgoing boxes stacking appropriately for shipping
  • Place all flat envelopes in bags
  • Load all outgoing packages onto truck
  • Gather, stack and return empty totes to the pick zone locations
  • Return all partially picked orders to the appropriate pick zones
  • Follow all safety protocols and guidelines
  • Follow all company policies as outlined in the employee handbook
  • Maintain cleanliness of work area and stocked with necessary supplies
