Position Summary:

The primary purpose of your job is to manage the operation of the food service department to include staffing, food ordering, meal preparation, food delivery, food safety and kitchen sanitation in accordance with community policies, physician orders, resident care plans and within the current federal, state and local standards, guidelines and regulations that govern the community. Assure that quality nutritional services are provided on a daily basis and supervise food service staff.


Education/Qualification:

  • Must possess a High School Diploma, or equivalent and must possess a Food Handler level II or similar food safety certification per state specific requirement.

  • Must also be:

    1. A certified food service manager; or

    2. Have similar national certification for food service management and safety from a national certifying body; or

    3. Have an associate’s or higher degree in food service management or in hospitality, if the course study includes food service or restaurant management, from an accredited institution of higher learning; and

    4. In States that have established standards for food service managers or food service managers, meets State requirements for food service managers or food service managers.

  • Previous experience in a healthcare setting preferred.
