Job description

POSITION SUMMARY-DIE MAINTENANCE (1ST and 2ND SHIFT AVAILABILITY)

The Die Maintenance Technician is responsible for maintaining, troubleshooting, and repairing stamping dies to ensure optimal performance, minimal downtime, and consistent product quality. This role supports production by performing preventative maintenance and precision repairs in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Perform routine and preventative maintenance on stamping dies, including cleaning, inspection, and lubrication
  • Diagnose and repair die issues such as wear, misalignment, and breakage
  • Disassemble, repair, and reassemble progressive and transfer dies
  • Troubleshoot tooling issues to minimize downtime and scrap
  • Read and interpret blueprints, calipers, and tooling drawings
  • Operate toolroom equipment such as air grinders, mills, lathes, drill press, and welding equipment
  • Familiarity of both transfer and progressive stamping dies
  • Maintain accurate maintenance records and documentation
  • Work closely with engineering and production teams to improve die performance
  • Ensure compliance with safety standards and company policies

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • High school diploma or GED required
  • 2 years of experience in die maintenance, tool and die, or related field (Preferred 5 years)
  • Self-motivated and able to take directions
  • Ability to communicate clearly and effectively, both verbally and in writing, with team members, supervisors, and cross-functional departments
  • Strong mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting skills
  • Basic welding and fabrication skills preferred
  • Operate overhead crane and forklift for die transportation (Certification will be provided)

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENT

  • Ability to work overtime and weekends when needed
  • Required use of personal protective equipment (PPE)
  • Physical abilities of standing, squatting, bending, climbing and lifting
  • Ability to lift boxes and supplies weighing between 5-50lbs.
