Dispatch/Logistics Assistant 1

Johnny B. Transport (JBT) is among the largest in-house asphalt transportation companies in our market with full-service capabilities and assets including asphalt tankers, asphalt distributors, railcars and portable pumping units. JBT is a subsidiary of Idaho Asphalt Supply, Inc. (IAS) which is a leading asphalt supplier and marketer in the Inland Northwest and Pacific Northwest Regions. With plants in Idaho, Utah, Wyoming, Montana, Oregon, California, and Arizona, IAS supplies a diverse product line of asphalts, polymer-modified asphalt, and asphalt emulsions to the road maintenance and construction industry. JBT is looking for an energized and flexible self-starter to fill a full-time opening for a Dispatch/Logistics Administrative Assistant 1 at our North Salt Lake, UT facility. This is an entry-level position.

Position Overview:

Position Responsibilities:

  • Assist with communication with shop on trailer repairs.
  • Help with daily paperwork.
  • Basic knowledge of truck regulations.
  • Dry out process.
  • Data entry.
  • BOL review.
  • Understand plant code and ID system.
  • Assist with truck dispatching and logistics.
  • Scale trucks.
  • Actively participate in driver safety and training.
  • Maintain driver information in LME and on the system.
  • Ensure LME and Samsara are always current with the correct truck, driver, and trailers.
  • Assist with various projects in coordination with the manager.

Position Skills/Requirements:

To be a strong fit for this opportunity you will have:

  • A high school diploma or GED equivalent
  • 1 year work experience in administrative work
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel, and Power Point)
  • Attention to detail.
