Lead the Charge in Network Operations Across the Pacific!

SOSi is looking for a Senior Network Administrator / Network Operations Deputy to join our dynamic team at Joint Base Pearl Harbor Hickam in Honolulu, Hawaii. We deliver mission-critical IT solutions that power operations and support 5,000+ customers across the Pacific theater.

In this role, you'll drive planning and oversight for network operations, leading a talented team of administrators and technicians to ensure secure, resilient, and high-performing networks. From LAN/WAN infrastructure to Unified Communications, VoIP, VTC, and cryptographic systems, you'll be at the forefront of enabling real-time C2 strategies for the Department of Defense. Step in as the Person-In-Charge when leadership is away and make an impact where it matters most.

Essential Job Duties

  • Identifies and prioritizes network assignments. Coordinates internal and external resources relevant to network-related initiatives. Communicates/manages network-related responsibilities to team.
  • Continuously aware of operational status of networks and related effects. Communicates status and changes to leadership, Enterprise Service Desk (ESD) and interested parties.
  • Ensures incidents regarding network-infrastructure and related core-services are tracked and resolved. Acts as a point of incident escalation and coverage. Manages proper communication, correction and response.
  • Participates in engineering, analysis and solution development, especially as it relates to solution implementation, network operations and maintenance.
  • Evaluates new services, technologies, software, tools, and devices that may improve organizational abilities to proactively monitor performance and remediate concerns.
  • Performs supervisory and administrative oversight of managed personnel. Provides recruiting, onboarding, direction/guidance, training, and assessment of network administrators, analysts and technicians.
  • Assess current work processes and propose recommendations that would improve work efficiencies.
  • Validates SOPs and TTPs associated with current knowledge of relevant network technologies. Regularly collects and summarizes pertinent network accomplishments, issues and concerns.
  • Identifies and validates Request for Information (RFI's) for management and Government customer(s).
  • Participates in and provides feedback to network-relevant special projects.
  • Ensures compliance of custody and ownership of Government equipment and related components.
Qualifications

Minimum Requirements

  • An Active in-scope SECRET clearance.
  • 7+ years of experience in network administration and enterprise IT service center operations.
  • DoD 8570 IAT-I compliant (A+ CE, CCNA, CND, Network+ CE, SSCP).
  • Prior supervisory experience. Able to communicate effectively, verbally and in writing.
  • Comprehensive knowledge of the principles, methods, and techniques used in IT network administration. troubleshooting and support. Knowledgeable in OSI model. Previous fiber experience (i.e., "layer-1").
  • Extended knowledge of networking (switching and routing protocols, installation and configuration) with prior experience using Cisco and Brocade network solutions.
  • Experienced with implementing/supporting Unified Communications (UC) (e.g., VoIP, Call Manager, dVTC).
  • Able to support 24/7 operations (including support to exercises), when necessary.
  • Able to follow instructions and work both independently and in a (distributed) team environment.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • DoD 8570 IAT-II compliant (CCNA, CySA+, GICSP, GSEC, Security+ CE, CND, SSCP).
  • Relevant IT Certification (e.g., Cisco, Citrix, Dell, HP, ITIL, Microsoft, Nutanix, Palo Alto, VMware).
  • Well-versed in Department of Defense (DoD) protocols, procedures and regulations.
  • Previous experience (installations, troubleshooting, support) with virtual infrastructure, VDI/thin-client, VoIP deployments.
  • Prior experience with Forcepoint, Juniper and/or Palo Alto technologies a plus.
  • Prior Help Desk/software experience (e.g., Jira, Remedy, ServiceNow).
  • Awareness of C2 applications.
  • Awareness or experience in ITIL framework and ITIL best practices.

  • May require periods of non-traditional working hours including consecutive nights or weekends.
  • Target Salary Range: $93,796 to $113,805.
