Job description

Position shifts rotate between weekday and weekend.
Job Duties will be rotated with other APRN/PA team members including but not limited to:

General Surgery Duties:
• Help with inpatient rounds, ER consultations, admissions, and procedures
• Assist on-call surgeon and general surgeons in the operating room

Trauma 1 & Trauma 2 Duties:
• Respond within 15 minutes to Trauma 1 activations
• Follow ATLS guidelines in conjunction with ED physician
• Obtain history from EMS/Patient and ensure information is transmitted to attending surgeon
• Perform secondary survey and order appropriate imaging and laboratory studies
• Follow up on all imaging and laboratory studies
• Triage patient and ensure proper consultations are obtained
• Assist surgeon with any necessary procedures
• Facilitate next steps for patient (admission, OR, transfer)
• Remain with patient until hand-off to next care provider (inpatient nurse, life flight nurse, etc.)
• Communicate with the attending surgeon the patient’s condition and current plan
• Document H&P and place Admission Orders as needed
• Assist on-call surgeon in the operating room
• Attend ICU multidisciplinary rounds each weekday
• Assist/perform procedures on trauma patients on inpatient wards, ICU and OR

Salary and benefits include:
-Salary $110,000 - $150,000
