Position Overview
We are seeking an experienced Maintenance Supervisor to lead maintenance and plant support operations at a manufacturing facility. This is a hands-on leadership position responsible for equipment reliability, preventive maintenance, employee scheduling, purchasing, outside contractors, and day-to-day plant support.
The Maintenance Supervisor will lead a team of approximately eight employees and work closely with the Plant Manager, Production, vendors, contractors, and other departments to ensure safe and efficient plant operations.
Schedule
1st Shift: 7:00 AM – 3:30 PM
Some overtime and Saturday work may be required
Key Responsibilities
  • Supervise, schedule, and direct daily activities of Maintenance Technicians and Service Clerks.
  • Prioritize maintenance and plant support work based on equipment needs, preventive maintenance requirements, and production priorities.
  • Assign work and monitor progress to ensure tasks are completed safely, efficiently, and on schedule.
  • Troubleshoot and repair mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, and other industrial equipment.
  • Provide hands-on technical support and guidance to maintenance personnel.
  • Oversee preventive maintenance programs and identify opportunities to improve equipment reliability and reduce downtime.
  • Order maintenance parts, supplies, tools, and services while maintaining appropriate inventory levels.
  • Coordinate and oversee outside contractors, vendors, repairs, and facility projects.
  • Work closely with Production and other departments to resolve equipment and operational issues.
  • Ensure employees follow all applicable safety requirements and work procedures, including LOTO, Hot Work, GMP, and other safety practices.
  • Communicate maintenance, safety, productivity, and equipment concerns clearly and promptly.
  • Maintain accurate maintenance records and communicate significant issues and trends to management.
  • Plant Support Oversight
  • Service and plant support employees may assist with:
  • Stockroom operations
  • Material handling and movement throughout the facility
  • Floor sweeping and general plant housekeepingPlaster preparation
  • Other miscellaneous plant support duties
The Maintenance Supervisor will schedule and direct these activities to support production and overall plant operations.
Technical Qualifications
  • The ideal candidate will have strong industrial maintenance experience, including:
  • Three-phase electrical systems, including 480 VAC
  • Low-voltage electrical systems and AC/DC controls
  • Electrical troubleshooting using schematics, drawings, manuals, and multimeters
  • Photo eyes, proximity switches, and similar sensors
  • PLC-controlled equipment and non-programmer-level PLC troubleshooting
  • Mechanical equipment including gearboxes, bearings, rotating equipment, and pneumatic systems
  • Machinery assembly/disassembly and precision measurement
  • Welding and fabrication
  • General industrial plumbing using PVC, copper, stainless steel, and black iron pipe
  • Preventive maintenance and industrial equipment troubleshooting
  • Broad knowledge of hand and power tools
  • Forklift and boom lift operation
Qualifications
  • High school diploma or equivalent required
  • 5+ years of industrial maintenance experience
  • Previous maintenance leadership or supervisory experience
  • Strong mechanical and electrical troubleshooting skills
  • Ability to read and interpret electrical schematics, mechanical drawings, and technical manuals
  • Strong organizational, communication, and teamwork skills
  • Ability to prioritize competing needs and make sound day-to-day decisions
  • Ability to work effectively with employees, management, vendors, contractors, and other departments
  • Basic proficiency with Microsoft Office
  • Ability to push, pull, lift, and carry up to 50 pounds
  • Ability to work in tight areas around machinery
Preferred: Associate degree in Engineering, Industrial Maintenance, Electrical, Mechanical, or a related field.
This is not an office-only supervisory position. The Maintenance Supervisor will be a hands-on leader who works alongside the maintenance team, troubleshoots equipment, plans and prioritizes work, coordinates vendors and contractors, manages maintenance purchasing, and helps keep the facility operating safely and efficiently.
The ideal candidate is an experienced industrial maintenance professional who enjoys leading a team, solving challenging equipment problems, and making a direct impact on plant operations and equipment reliability.
