Job Description:
About the Role:
The Machine Operator is responsible for operating and supporting high-speed tea bag manufacturing and packaging equipment to ensure products are produced safely, efficiently, and in accordance with customer specifications. This role plays a key part in maintaining quality standards, maximizing production output, and supporting continuous operations in a fast-paced manufacturing environment. You will be performing the following tasks, including but not limited to:
  • Operate production machinery and packaging equipment in a safe and efficient manner.
  • Assist with setting up packaging lines, including coders, tape machines, and related equipment.
  • Perform quality checks and material releases according to established procedures and training guidelines.
  • Verify all coding and labeling is accurate, legible, and meets customer requirements.
  • Inspect tea bags, cartons, envelopes, overwrap, and other packaging materials for quality defects.
  • Identify and report operational defects, including incorrect gluing, machine-related carton damage, and alignment issues.
  • Complete rework and re-boxing activities as directed by the Line Lead or Line Manager.
  • Ensure finished products meet all customer specifications and quality standards.
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment.
  • Work effectively in a fast-paced manufacturing environment and respond quickly to changing production needs.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned.

Important Details:
  • This is a full-time permanent role on the 2nd shift, which operates Monday through Friday, with some Saturdays. Overtime may be available, depending on the needs of the business. The anticipated starting wage rate for this position is $17.90 - $20.60 + $0.60 shift differential

  • A High School diploma, GED, or equivalent experience.
  • Previous manufacturing, packaging, production, or machine operation experience.
  • The ability to work safely and effectively in a fast-paced production environment.
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to product quality.
  • Experience performing quality inspections and identifying product or packaging defects.
  • The ability to follow work instructions, standard operating procedures, and quality requirements.
  • Strong communication skills and the ability to work effectively as part of a team.
  • A willingness to work flexible schedules, including overtime and weekends as needed.
  • Food manufacturing or consumer packaged goods experience is preferred.
