Job description

Sales & Business Development Manager – North America (Food Ingredients)

Reports to: VP of Sales & Marketing (North America)

To lead the market entry and growth of food acids across North America. This role is responsible for securing long-term contracts with major food, beverage, and industrial players, positioning our new West Virginia facility as the premier regional alternative to overseas imports.Key Responsibilities

  • Market Development: Identify and penetrate key segments including Confectionery, Beverages, Bakery, Animal Feed and other Industrial Applications.
  • Value Proposition: Sell the "Local Supply" advantage—focusing on supply chain resilience, reduced lead times, and lower carbon footprints compared to Asian imports.
  • Contract Negotiation & Revenue Assurance: Lead the end-to-end sales cycle from technical sampling to multi-year volume commitments. Manage the post-sales relationship to ensure timely payment collection and adherence to credit terms.
  • Technical Advisory: Work with customer R&D teams to establish our products in their specific formulations.
  • Brand Ambassadorship: Represent the company at major North American industry events, trade shows (such as IFT or SupplySide West), and technical conferences to enhance market positioning and lead generation.
  • Intelligence: Monitor North American market trends, competitor pricing and regulatory shifts in the FDA/Food Safety space

Target Verticals

  • Food & Beverage: Acidulants for candies, jellies, fruit juices, and wines.
  • Industrial/Resins: Fumaric acid applications in Unsaturated Polyester Resins (UPR) for construction and automotive.
  • Pharma/Personal Care: Use in effervescent tablets and pH balancing in cosmetics.

Required Qualifications & Skills

  • Experience: 5–8 years of B2B sales experience in the Specialty Chemical/Food Ingredient industry/Organic Acids.
  • Technical Background: A degree in Chemical Engineering, Food Science, or Chemistry is highly preferred.
  • Network: A proven track record of access to Tier-1 food processors and chemical distributors in North America.
  • Drive: A "hunter" mindset. We are launching a new facility; the candidate must be comfortable building a pipeline from zero.
  • Must be authorized to work in the USA.
  • Can be in the NJ or Chicago area
